Tintagel’s High Tea

Isn’t catching up with your best friend the most wonderful thing? This weekend I visited my friend Katie, who I haven’t seen since the Christmas holidays.  My face still hurts from all the laughing we did! Yesterday we ended up just chatting for almost six hours, and had dinner at her house. Her mother is a wonderful cook, and I’m sure I ate waaay too much! For appetizers we had various cheeses, meats, french bread and fruit. Then we had spinach salad followed by a main course of grilled veggies, Jasmine Rice and Lobster wrapped in Cod. For dessert we had tea and cinnamon coffee cake.

Delicious!

Today we went to Tintagels, a tearoom located in The Village of Erin. It is one of our favourite restaurants, and we visit whenever we can. We started with a pot of tea each. Earl Grey for Katie and Lady Lavender for me.

Following our soups we ordered High Tea, consisting of tea, cucumber sandwiches, fresh baked scones with preserves and Devonshire cream, followed by Charlotte’s Pudding.

We ended up staying until they were almost closed. It’s such an adorable little shop, and such a welcoming environment. You can’t help but fall in love with it. If you ever find yourself in the countryside and happen to pass through Erin, give this place a try. If you enjoy English food and tea you’ll love it as much as we do!

    • Thanks for your comment! Wow, I’m jealous you lived in England for three years! I love England so much, and it’s part of my heritage so I always love visiting. Would you go to restaurants for High Tea or did you make it yourself?
